Vegan Chocolates

I love chocolates. I'm unable to find vegan chocolates in supermarkets across United States. I visit many vegan blogs, but I have not come across any post related to vegan chocolates.

I'm sure there are many vegan chocolates which vegans relish. Where do you purchase vegan chocolates and what's your favorite vegan chocolate?

Thank you!

Hmmm, have you ever seen Ritter brand? Their dark chocolate, dark chocolate mint, and dark chocolate marzipan flavors are vegan... many dark chocolate bars are vegan if you read the labels. Others to check out that I've seen in "regular" grocery stores include: Newman's Own, Endangered Species, Maya, etc. Also, lots of places online sell vegan chocolate (Pangea, Veganessentials, etc.) Good luck on your noble vegan-chocolate quest!!!

(PS, I love ALL the vegan chocolate I've tried hehe)

Allison's has vegan chocolates

At the grocery, I get Endangered Species -- especially the dark chocolate with deep forest mint!

There's a bunch listed here - http://www.godairyfree.org/Food-to-Eat/Shopping-List/Chocolate-and-Candy.html - all are made without dairy, most are vegan (check sugars). Though my personal favorites are Lagusta's Lucsious truffles - http://www.lagustasluscious.com/truffles.html

That's an easy one, I love chocolate too! When I'm in the mood for a straight up bar of chocolate, whole foods carries the endangered species brand of chocolate (just be careful and read the label, not all are vegan, it's usually obvious though, i.e. milk chocolate).
Another weakness I have are the Crispy Cat bars which you can get from food fight grocery store online and veganessentials.com (and probably others).

My favorites are the Green & Black brand chocolates. Soooo yummy. Organic and fair trade. Not all of the flavors are vegan, but most are. Just check the label, it will say vegan somewhere on the back. I have been able to find these in every single Whole Foods I've been to. In Canada, these are everywhere, it's heaven.

I was going to suggest Ritter also. I also like Scharffen Berger and Chocolove!

I've heard of all the above, but if you're baking, Sunspire has really good vegan chips, which are great right out of the bag! Also, their chocolate covered cranberries, etc, are amazing! -Oh, and thanks for your post and query about hummus. A quick recipe is simply this: a can of chickpeas (drained and rinsed but save 1/2 cup of the canned liquid. Blend the chickpeas with the liquid, some tahini (about 1/4 cup), some lemon juice (about 3 Tbsp), some minced garlic and some ground cumin. Oh, and maybe some water (Tbsp) if need be!

There are lots of them--I never have a problem. Try a gourmet shop or Trader Joe's, if you have one.

I've also developed a fondess for carob, but it's improtant to remember that it's not chocolate. It has its own inherent flavor.

I purchase my vegan chocolates at any regular grocery store. My favorite is the Sweet Dark Chocolate by Newman's Own Organic. I also enjoy Endangered Species Dark Chocolate.

Green & Black's brand Maya Gold is my favourite. I can get it from a few big grocery shops in town, or small indie bookstores and things. Another good one (if you like your chocolate dark!) is Lindt 70% or 80% chocolate. Most chain supermarkets have that here in Australia, and I don't think Lindt is hard to find in the US, either.

Honestly, do you really think anyone will be interested in what you write every day? Seriously, I think you'd change the style because everything is wrong and this blog is a boring way to spend the time at Internet.
